This application called for a label to be applied to the top edge of a pallet of loose bound bottles. The label has a patterned adhesive that was coated in the top half of the label. The bottles themselves were not permitted to come into contact with any adhesive.
The application cylinder itself needed to be able to detect the top surface of the pallet stack because of variable pallet heights. It then would apply the label to the side and wipe the top two inches over the top surface of the pallet.
